— Amanda Lehrer, LMSW

We all carry stories that shape the way we move through the world. Amanda meets clients where they are, offering care that is structured, compassionate, and rooted in everyday life. With over 25 years of experience in behavioral health, she brings a calm and steady presence to her work with individuals and families.

Amanda supports clients facing a wide range of challenges, including mood disorders, thought disorders, trauma, substance use, and perinatal mental health concerns. Many of her clients are navigating postpartum shifts, parenting stress, or the need for higher levels of care. Her work focuses on helping people build stability, reconnect with themselves, and move forward with more clarity and confidence.

Her approach blends several therapeutic methods including CBT, DBT, ACT, IFS, EMDR, Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy, and Polyvagal Theory. She works from a foundation of trauma-informed care and harm reduction. Amanda sees clients in New York, Connecticut, and Washington, DC, with sessions available in person and online.

In addition to therapy, Amanda offers executive coaching for individuals navigating leadership stress, burnout, career transitions, and the emotional impact of caregiving or high-responsibility roles. Her coaching style is direct, thoughtful, and grounded in clinical insight.

As a parent and an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist, Amanda creates an inclusive space for people of all identities. She has a particular gift for helping families navigate complex dynamics and for supporting clients who may not have found success with traditional treatment models. Her work is thoughtful, collaborative, and grounded in helping people stay connected to their own healing.
