Therapy that goes above and beyond

Welcome to Your Hero’s Journey

Every part of you belongs here. Even the ones you’ve tried to silence.

The “Why” Behind Overture Therapy

Maya Kruger, MA, LCAT, RDT, PMH-C, CTT3 is a licensed psychotherapist and trauma specialist who created Overture Therapy as a place for honest, compassionate, and deeply human healing. She believes change is possible, and that recovery begins with the courage to explore what brought you here.

The name Overture comes from the musical world. It is the opening movement, the moment before something powerful unfolds. In therapy, this is the beginning too. It is when you start tuning into yourself again—not to fix what is broken, but to reconnect with what has been waiting underneath.

“Why” Hero’s Journey?

The Hero's Journey, Joseph Campbell's timeless storytelling pattern, provides a powerful metaphor for the therapeutic process. Just as a hero leaves the known world to face challenges and return transformed, therapy invites you to embark on a journey of self-discovery. With the guidance of a therapist, you'll confront your personal struggles, gain new insights, and ultimately return to your life with a renewed sense of purpose and wholeness. This process is about recognizing your inner strength and becoming the hero of your own story.

Whether you are navigating trauma, identity shifts, maternal mental health, or emotional overwhelm, we are here to support you with care, creativity, and deep respect for your pace.

A Message from Our Founder:

The Heart Behind the Work

Collaborative Care That Sees the Whole You

Overture Therapy is more than a solo practice. We are a team of thoughtful, trauma-informed clinicians who bring unique training, lived experience, and cultural awareness to the work we do.

Each therapist in our group brings a distinct specialty—from maternal mental health and eating disorder recovery to adolescent care and drama therapy. What unites us is a shared belief in depth, authenticity, and the healing power of relationship.

We collaborate intentionally to support clients across life stages and identities, offering care that adapts to your needs without losing connection to your story.

Whether you are seeking individual therapy, support for a teen, or someone who truly understands the nuances of trauma or identity work, you will find a grounded and compassionate clinician here.

Trauma may live in your story. But it doesn’t define your whole self.
